About Mark

I was born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I graduated from Dickinson College cum laude with a BA in East Asian Studies after spending my junior year abroad in Beijing, China. It was in Beijing, that I first experienced acupuncture and watched the pro-democracy demonstrations in Tiananmen Square.

After spending a year teaching English in Taiwan, I attended graduate school at the University of Iowa and received a masters Degree in Anthropology. My master’s thesis was on food and health care traditions in China. I also completed a Masters in Education at the University of Iowa.

I taught high school social studies in New York City and New York State for 5 years before pursuing studies at The Academy for Five Element Acupuncture in Hallandale, Florida. I received my masters of Acupuncture in 2005. In addition to being nationally certified I have also done extra training in Chinese Herbs and facial rejuvenation. I am a NADA certified detoxification specialist.
